I like clean and simple design and even though this card took me a little while, with all the small peices, it was worth it. I started by cutting a big heart using the cricut so that I would have a pattern to follow. Then I cut out the small hearts using three different cricut cartridges and paper from my scrap stash. Then I attached the small hearts to the big heart, filling it in as I went. I also turned the small hearts different ways to add some interest. Next I attached the big heart to a white card. I wanted to colors to pop off the page. Then I stamped "Happy Valentines Day" at the bottom. At this point, I liked the card, but thought it needed something. So I outlined some of the small hearts in different patterns using a silver gel pen. That was just what it needed. I love this card, and think it would make a great Valentine's day gift for anyone. So, I made a card using the cowboy image from the Best of 2009 cartridge. To turn it into a card, I made a copy of the image, turned it upside down, then used the weld feature to attach the two peices, then cut it out. I cut the layer peice for only one side of the image to attach to the front of the card. I used a quote from the cheery chat collection from Stampin Up, and stamped it with chocolate chip ink also from Stampin Up. I haven't used my stamps in quite a long time, but I have enjoyed dusting them off and using them again. I ended up giving the card to my husband, for his birthday. I had choosen the colors of brown and blue because all three of us have boots that are the same colors. We used them in our photo shoot in November 2011. You can see the image below.
